DEBBIE & EDDIE LOREGGIAN
Owners
The centre is owned by husband and wife team who have 3 children of their own. Debbie is a dedicated hands on early childhood professional who is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and believes that each child is unique in their curiosity and potential which ultimately drives their interest to learn about the world. Debbie believes that children thrive in natural, flexible, and manipulative environments so much change and improvements have been made since taking over the centre a short time ago. The education program is based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community which help develop vital social skills necessary to become competent citizens. A team of enthusiastic and dedicated educators who share these beliefs and have a willingness to create a sense of community and closeness in which children thrive is a vital part of the plan. Debbie has been in the profession for over 20 years but remains committed to making a difference in early childhood education, by providing an environment that offers rich, diverse play-based learning opportunities to ensure each child develops independence, curiosity, and confidence.
Eddie is a people person who is always willing to assist wherever he can. He is responsible for all the accounts and financial matters as well as the ongoing maintenance and upkeep to provide a safe play environment.
LEANNE
Director
Hello! My name is Leanne and I am the Centre Director, proudly working alongside owners Debbie and Eddie.
I was born in South Africa and have since lived in New Zealand, England and Australia. My partner and I have 4 beautiful children and live in the Hills of Roleystone. I have a strong passion for early childhood and have travelled, worked and studied in different countries to deepen my knowledge and understanding of the importance of teaching and learning in these early years. I have a bachelor’s of Teaching Early Childhood Education and have been in the sector for over 15 years. It was at a conference in Reggio Emilia in Italy when I identified who I was as a teacher and have since strived to want to strengthen education by creating opportunities to innovate, rethink, and explore new ways of teaching children.
As Centre Director I am committed to mentoring and supporting the educators in delivering quality education and care to children and ensuring Little Stars feels like a home away from home where children and families feel safe, secure, supported, cared for and educated.
I believe that respect, communication and partnerships with children, families and community form the foundation to children’s learning. I have an open-door policy within the service so feel free to visit or call me with any questions or queries.
With the support of the owners and passionate and dedicated educators, together we strive to create a childcare centre that is nurturing, loving and homely with high-quality care and a strong focus on play-based learning and natural environments.
