Short Term Outcomes

    To provide an environment that is conducive to the early settling of children and families by promoting the following:

  • Orientation to suit individual needs.
  • Appropriate and accurate information (such as copies of the learning documentation and assessments) to ensure communications including grievances and complaints are open between management, staff and parents.
  • Daily curriculum that includes activities to support multiple intelligences and learning styles which children prefer.

Long Term Outcomes

  • To provide an environment where foundations of respect for others and diversity, inclusivity and equity are established.
  • To develop an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and Being.
  • To provide opportunities for learning that is age and stage appropriate through a wide range of activities and to develop the love of learning, challenging experiences, foster thinking and problem solving will be incorporated into our programs.
  • To develop Holistic approaches to learning and to adapt Pedagogical practices to promote children’s learning
  • To encourage family involvement and collaboration in the education of their children.
  • To share pride in the growth of our community by recognising and meeting local community needs and encouraging community participation in the operation of the centre.
  • To promote sustainable use of resources and to develop and implement sustainable practices.
  • To support children to become environmentally responsible and show respect for the environment.
  • To encourage use of information and communication technologies to access information, investigate ideas and represent their thinking.

Educational Program and Practices

  • Each child’s current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities and interests are the foundation of the program. Educators use intentional teaching to scaffold and extend each child’s learning.
  • Each child learning and development is assessed . The documentation about each child’s program and progress is available to families.
  • Little Stars Child Care Centre takes an active role in caring for its environment and contributes to a sustainable future.
  • Sustainable practices are embedded in service operations.
  • Children are supported to become environmentally responsible and show respect for the environment.
  • School readiness program is available in our three year old kindergarten room.
  • Each child is supported to work with, learn from and help others through collaborative learning opportunities.
  • The dignity and rights of every child are maintained at all times.

Children’s Health and Safety

  • Effective hygiene practices are promoted and implemented
  • Healthy eating and physical activity are embedded in the program for children.
  • Physical activity is promoted through planned and spontaneous experiences is appropriated for each child.
  • Every reasonable precaution is take to protect children from any harm.
  • Plans to effectively manage incidents and emergencies are developed in consultation with relevant authorities.

Physical Environment

  • Outdoor and indoor spaces, buildings, furniture, equipment, facilities and resources are suitable for their purpose.
  • The environment is inclusive, promotes competence, independent exploration and learning through play.

Educators and Staff Members

  • Educators, Coordinators and staff members are respectful and ethical.
  • There is continuity of educators and coordinators at the service.

Partnership with Families and Communities

  • Effective enrolment and orientation process for families i.e unlimited complimentary visits upon enrolment.
  • Educators, Coordinators and staff members are respectful and ethical.
  • Families have opportunities to be involved in the service and contribute t service decision.
